waiting game

I took the 2 little kids to the hospital today to see Daddy. They all had a good time. They put in Clayton's central line this morning, so he is continuing to receive TPN through that now. His spirits are a bit low, so we are trying to cheer him up. I bought a few helium foil balloons to brighten up his room. He was having a hard and uncomfortable time sleeping, so I bought a memory foam for his hospital bed. I hope this helps. I did not get to talk to a doctor yesterday or today, so I don't know much more news. I will print off the posts for him and we are all going in again tomorrow night for games and treats. They have a big room right next to his for families to gather and watch tv or movies or play games. No one is ever in there, so we like to go and spend some time together as a family. I am going to the temple tomorrow morning with some good friends and I think that will be great for me. It is a tough week for our family and we hope to have Clayton with us on Friday, whether its just a day pass or permanent. I'll let you all know results of this new treatment, TPN as soon as I find out. Love, Cynthia

  2. HI Clayton, Your Mom called me and told me about your blog, and Cynthia is going to take it to you. Those crummy Canadian Hospitals, they should get with the times and have a wireless hookup so you can have your computer and see what is happening in the world. Enough of that.
I will tell you that my mission is the most amazing thing that is in my life. I can't imagine not doing this. If you know any couples that are doing nothing, send them here. I served with Sister Olsen. She told me that her son was your bishop. How great is that. This church is so small. I have run across a few people who I am related to in various ways while I have been in the training zone. Fun.
I am in the training zone, the 3rd floor of the Joseph Smith Building. For the first four months of last year, Jan to Apr, I was in the library. I hated it. It was boring and I told my zone leader that if I did that for another 16 months, I would be ready for the looney bin. So, about 2 months later I was transferred to the training zone. I love it, it was where I wanted to be in the first place. We train all the new missionaries, full time and part time, who come into the mission. We train the in PAF, Personal Ancestry File, and in New Family Search. New Family Search is just that, new in the past couple of years. There is no doubt that it is the Lord's program. IBM said it is the largest program they have seen. So>>>>>
It is in your temple area, that was one of the first places it went. Your temple must be special. When you are mobile again you should check it out. new.familysearch.org You will be in there as your membership records have been transferred to there. Check it out. After you register, I think it will take about 72 hours before you will be able to access it. All you need is your membership number and your confirmation date, as well as your name etc, (That is of course, if you know it lol).
I sing in the missionary choir with about 78 others. It is fun, but I need to get up at 5am 3 mornings a week. that sucks.
I only have 4 months to go and then back to Campbell River. I don't especially like living there, although it is beautiful, and my kids are there. It takes so long to get off the Island, and I think it is cheaper there too. Oh well. bite the bullet and suck it up. I am looking forward to seeing my children and grandchildren again. Can't wait sometimes.
You have a great day. I think you are going to be busy reading all that Cynthia is bringing to you. Love you and you are in my prayers as well I put your name in the temple.
